Contact Tracing

Thanks for doing your part to protect our community!

Thus far, Porters Point School has not had any confirmed cases of Covid-19.  Families have been doing an amazing job in keeping kids home when they are ill!  Thank you!

We are starting to see an upward trend of cases within the community.  Please continue to do your part in controlling the spread by staying home when you or your child is sick, staying 6 feet apart from others, wearing masks in public, and washing your hands frequently.

As a district, and at Porters Point School, we have put many plans in place to respond in the event one of our school community members is positive for Covid-19.  In this case, the school will communicate with our families that there was a positive case.  If your child is deemed to be a close contact of someone with Covid-19 (within 6 feet of someone with Covid-19 for more than 15 minutes), then you will be contacted by the Vermont Department of Health.  If you receive a call from the Department of Health, please answer the call.

Here's a helpful video on how contact tracing works!

Returning to School After Illness and Traveling

How long does my student have to stay home if they are ill?

The Vermont Department of Health has developed this very helpful and informative document to help families determine when your student can return to school after illness. CLICK HERE!

This guidance is subject to change if our community spread increases.

Considerations for travel and upcoming holidays

If your family is planning travel, please be aware of the quarantine requirements upon returning to Vermont and before returning to school.  Visit the Vermont Department of Health Travel Map for up to date information on travel restrictions.  This map is updated every Tuesday based on community spread in each county in our region.

Travel to green counties do NOT require quarantine, while travel to yellow or red counties are subject to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements. Vermont counties are exempt from travel restrictions.

As always, feel free to contact me in the health office with any questions or concerns 264-5923.

Thank you for helping to keep our school open and healthy!
