Child Seat Safety

This week is Child Passenger Safety Week!

On arrival to school in the morning, we are happy to see our Porters Point Pandas properly restrained according to Vermont Law and American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations.

  • Children should remain in 5-point harness car seats until they are 4 years old AND are at least 40 pounds.
  • Children will often transition from a harnessed car seat to a booster seat around age 5 or 6.
  • Follow the manufacturer weight limits for your car seat
  • In Vermont, kids must remain in a booster seat with a lap AND shoulder belt until at least age 8.  This includes ALL of our PPS Pandas!
  • A child safety seat should be replaced if it has been involved in an accident, even if it appears intact.

Thanks for helping our precious cargo travel safely!

Stay Home When Sick

It has been a great first week at Porters Point School! We are excited to have students back in the building.

This year we are asking students and staff to stay home if they are experiencing ANY sign of illness, even if mild.

Click here to see a video about what symptoms to be monitoring at home for and what symptoms to stay home for.

Thanks for helping to keep our schools and community healthy and open!
